Bec-Scie was an absolutely gorgeous hike. It's 3km in length (1.5km both ways) and though it doesn't sound like a lot, when you are climbing up and down steps, walking across rocks, and creeping across tree roots, it actually takes more time than you think.
Of course, that's the scenic route and there is an easier path for easier access which I will be trying at some point. We loved the scenic way though. I loved that there were little puzzles to solve along the way, in the form of wooden boards attached to trees. Sometimes they held questions and other times it was objects to seek out.
I think personally, my own favourite part of the hike, was reaching a platform very near the dam itself, and looking over the edge to see a crystal clear rainbow that was so bright and perfect. It was really strange to be looking down upon a rainbow and definitely a memory that will remain with me for a long time to come.
Highly recommended for a visit and as you can see from the images in our album, there is a lot of eye candy. At just 3 dollars per person, it makes a great day out and packing a picnic is a great idea as there are lots of picnic tables to stop at, including one very close to the dam. There are also lots of places along the way to stop and rest if you feel unable to make the hike without stopping.
